Your post of ‘Negro’ by Langston Hughes has an impact through his words, the visuals chosen and the accompanying music and Shamloo’s voice most worthy of its message. My thoughts are directed towards the acutely growing fascistic crimes of racism against African Americans in all spheres of life; the ongoing rape and decimation of Africa through then colonization and now neo-colonization and finally, the climate catastrophe causing both the ‘Negro’ of America and the ‘Negro’ of Africa to bear the brunt of poisoned water, air and land adding to the tormenting deprivation of the necessities of life. And all this suffering entrenched in the capitalist system’s stench. Woe to us all.
